It's a minor error by the conveyancing company but it doesn't result in any loss to you. Yes, your mortgage will be calculated from a slightly earlier date, but that means it will be paid off marginally sooner, too.
Since the notice of completion sets a timer running, it sounds as though you could not have completed on any different date even if you had known sooner.

So here's an update:
My conveyancer initially blamed me for being reckless and booking a holiday near to completion. I explained how I'd carefully planned this holiday, and the was being inconvenienced by their company not informing me.
Result:
They are covering my week's mortgage!0 -

I think some people are being a bit harsh on the OP.
they SHOULD have got 10 working days notice, which is 2 calendar weeks. Phones their legal team, who they are paying good money for, on Friday to check if notice has been served, which they were told it hadn't, which means the OP rightfully thought they have at least 16 days until completion. (the following Monday through to the Monday 2 weeks after that), and planned this holiday around that.
dont forget that the OP might have been waiting for 6+ months for completion, and the date could have moved around by +-2 months in that time, meaning that a last minute holiday was the ONLY chance to book a holiday around this time.
Quite frankly OP, I'm glad they've admitted it was their mistake, which it was. enjoy the holiday and the house.0
