Hello
My daughter bought her first home with a mortgage a couple of years ago. She now has a partner and they would like to start saving together to buy a bigger home together. Her partner would be a first time buyer.
We would like to give them something to start their savings off and I wondered if they could open a joint Help-to-Buy ISA, when they become available.
I know my daughter would not qualify for the Govt bonus, but would her partner qualify with his "half" of the savings?
Thank you in advance

I'm pretty sure there are no joint ISAs. When it opens in December your daughters partner can deposit £1200 and £200 per month after in his own ISA from what I've read. Myself and OH are first time buyers and will open one each.

....is the correct answer, the acronym stands for Individual Savings Account.

ok thanks. That being the case, would he qualify for the Govt. bonus in his ISA even if his deposit was going towards a joint mortgage?
