One of interest to The Deep!
According to this poster on PePiPoo UKCPS has been kicked out of Forbury Retail Park because of the number of complaints:

Sadly, however, it seems another PPC is to take their place. Presumably JLL is Jones Lang Lasalle, who use ParkingEye at the Borehamwood Retail Park, so hopes of happier days at the Forbury may be premature!

You have to wonder what goes through the heads of the decision makers. Do they really think that replacing one corrupt, unethical company with an eye only on their own profits, and not on their clients' (and their customers) satisfaction, with another is going to fix things?
Or do I smell kickbacks and other dodgy, behind the scenes behaviour?0 -
They probably genuinely only have experience of dealing with one PPC and think (regardless of which PPC we're talking about) that this must surely just be a rogue one, and all the other ones are fine.Je Suis Cecil.0

Things are looking up in Reading. A few years back OPC was made to stop some very nasty practices at Apex Plaza after a public outcry.
The problem with the Forbury is that there are two PPCs operating in what is, in effect one large car park. The is another company operating in Argos, just across the road, and perhaps ToysRus uses a fourth company.
I think that, on the whole, Reading shoppers are getting quite wise to these companies, the Reading Chronicle and Trading Standards are both on side. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
There's a similar arrangement at The Arches in Watford. One part is Civil Enforcement, another part of what appears to be the same car park is I-can't-remember-who, and if you cross the road to B & Poo it's ParkingEye. Although, of course, since ParkingEye doesn't know about you leaving the site you're quite safe parking there and visiting the rest of the complex!Je suis Charlie.0
