Do I need a New Satellite Dish

Am I correct in thinking Freeview HD is 1080P as opposed to Freesat HD which is 1080i?
The freeview we get here is so bad, no HD channels appear, picture breakup is terrible, so wondering if a new ariel would be better, ariel is also over 15 years old, other around up have totally differenet ariels to the one we have, we even have a booster fitted but that does not help, well maybe a bit.

Nope, they're all broadcast at 1080i as far as I'm aware. I've heard some people say some broadcasts are 1080p, but haven't seen any evidence of it.
You've got a Freesat recorder. Surely it's better to sort the satellite dish out, than get a new aerial AND a new Freeview recorder?
Freesat has more (not necessarily better!) channels, and there's more space for HD stuff in the future...
If you do want Freeview, it might be worth asking your neighbours if they do actually get a decent signal before investing, they could have the same problems as you!
