Bought a dongle with 3 months internet and no expiry but not working, and told tough

Shouldnt be a problem returning it to shop(then again they may say no as seal is broken so what are my rights)
Basically got a dongle with 3 months internet included(not free), went home plugged it in and nothing, rang mobile provider an was told number was deactivated because it was unused.
What legal rights do I have in this instance? I would understand if it had a expiry date but it didnt so basically duped into buying it

Have you actually taken it back?
If you've only just got the thing, you can reject it for a full refund.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Doesn't sound like anyone was duped in to anything. Just a simple oversight by the retailer.
Go back and ask them to exchange it0 -
Return the item under SOGA - it's clearly not fit for purpose."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Does anybody sell a dongle with no expiry these days? I had a Vodafone one that did this some years ago but they changed the T&Cs about 18 months ago so it now does expire. I wasn't aware that anyone else offered one.0
