Hi All,

Time to get your crystal balls out folks :)

Finally, my last default dropped off my report on Friday :T:j, and I applied for a co-operative account on Sunday to get the £100 switch incentive.

Later on in the evening, I received an email which said:

Hello Mr Silk
Thank you for your recent application for a Current Account through our website at https://www.co-operativebank.co.uk.
We're delighted to tell you that subject to a few formalities, your application has been approved.
In the next few days you'll receive the paperwork and information for your new account.
If you have any questions about your application, please phone us on 08457 240 752, and we'll be happy to help you.

Can anyone tell me if I've been accepted, if so, and from your previous experience; what are the 'few formalities'?.. I got declined the account 3 weeks ago and got a call from my local branch who advised to re-apply once the default drops.

Cheers in advance :)

    There were no any formalities.
A letter took a few days to arrive - dated the same day as the e-mail, with a card enclosed.
Telephone call to switch lasted about an hour and was a nightmare, but possibly I just was unlucky.

Hope you have not missed TCB's £52.

Phone Co-op about you missing out the TCB, they were able to give me the cashback 20 minutes later :)

Just so you're aware, my 'subject to formalities' email last Thursday was followed up by a call on the Saturday from a local number to try to sell me the switch.

I said I didn't even have confirmation it was open, no debit card, and didn't even know the account number. Apparently she knew the account number so all seems fine with the opening, assuming she was indeed from the co-op. It's probably far too coincidental for a fraudulent call two days after the opening, but I didn't have my switching account debit card on me anyway.
