i see that Amex is quoted as the best CC at 5% but there is a max cashback of £100. does anyone know of any cards that have uncapped cashback?
I have £10k spend next month which i will pay off in full and am looking for the best return. Will probably spend £25k in the year and always pay off in full.
maybe another type of card is best for this?
thanks

Only for the 5%.
You still get cashback after that and at a higher rate than other cards.maybe another type of card is best for this?
No, Amex is the highest paying - unless of course there is a particular shop you like or a particular reward (avios?) that you are after.
In general cashback is mostly 0.5% these days unless you spend it at a specific retailer e.g.M&S card spent at M&S, or Asda card spent as Asda.0 -
The Amex platinum cashback credit card is clearly the best cashback card at present ( I did a recent search for myself)
It gives 5% for the first 3 months, 1.25 % thereafter and 2.5% cashback in the first month of every year if you spend more than £10,001 in your previous 12 months.
Pl see my PM to you for further info and analysis0 -
sorry, I meant the cash-back in the first 3 months is capped at £100 i.e. it is not 5% on all transactions giving a limitless cash-back in £s for the first 3 months.0

The Amex Everyday cashback card has a limit of £100 (5% on £2000), but the Amex Platinum card has a limit of £125 ( 5% on £2500)
The latter does have an annual fee, but still worthwhile for the overall higher cashback given your high spending patterns0 -

If you plan a £10,000 spend in the first month you would get:
Platinum everyday
5% on first £2000 = £100
0.5% on next £3500 = £17.50
1% on next £4000 = £40
1.25% on final £500 = £6.25
TOTAL = £163.75
Platinum
5% on first £2500 = £125
1.25% on final £7500 = £93.75
Annual fee = - £25
TOTAL = £193.750
