Is it possible to directly post a photo/image directly from an iPhone to a website or forum, without having to upload to an image sharing site, such as photo bucket, etc?

Not that simple. Yes it is but it depends on the website setup, and sometimes they also have an app to do the work. Facebook and Imagur for example will let you upload directly.0
