Very near to where I work, there is a row of parking bays with the restriction of 2 hours parking, however, for the last 5 years (at least) the restrictions have not been enforced, until last month.
My colleagues and I all had a parking ticket and one of them was advised by a warden to submit a challenge on the grounds that the restrictions had not previously been enforced. I have done this and the challenge was rejected, but on the grounds that 'You state in your challenge that you were unaware of the restrictions in force'. However, I didn't say that! I said that the restrictions had not previously been enforced.
I called the council and said that I've received their letter and they've rejected my appeal on the grounds of something I didn't actually say, and they're basically saying tough and advising me to wait for the notice to owner.
I appreciate I've been lucky to park where I have done for the last few years and get away with it, but part of me feels like the council have not read my challenge!
Do I pay the fine or wait and formally challenge it??
Thanks in advance.
