Ordered a new laptop and have had delivery delayed (ordered 4th, estimated 17th now 28th)
Have e-mailed Dell and they said there is a shortage of glass causing delays! ANyone else been given this line?

I had exactly the same story yesterday concerning an Inspiron 6400. Complained via email and they phoned me.

I've just had to wait 6 weeks for five Dell flat-panel screens, and was told the same story at time of order.

Ordered a Inspiron 1720. Purchased 17th of July, its still in Pre Production and delivery is due on the 5th of Sept. Is it worth calling them and haggling them a bit? Can't do it for a while anyway as I'm away for the week but I don't see if coming by the 5th of Sept somehow at this rate with what people are saying!0

I ordered a inspiron 6400 laptop on the 14th August, delivery was meant to be 24th August, just been put back to the 3rd September
Dell say it's because their suppliers are very busy atm due to lots of orders... looking at previous posts they should of known that when I ordered- wish they'd told me then because I wanted it before I went away! Loving knitting for the Wooligans! :j my totals:

I ordered Inspiron 6400 on 10th august with delivery date due 22nd.
Had a call last week and email to say estimated delivery date of 31st August, but got call thismorning and its ready to be delivered so is coming tomorrow!

Just reading some reviews of the laptop I ordered on download.com seems our American friends are having problems with Dell orders too. People have had severe delays on their laptops over there as well. Time to give Dell some haggaling.0
