The Mattel help line number is constantly engaged.

Asda will aparently refund any item onthe list that they stock.

Woolworths however are advising that you call the number

I'd be grateful for any updates.

I called the helpline yesterday morning. They are send a pre-paid postage label for all the toys to be returned and they send a stock list which you can choose replacements from.
I said I wouldn't have 100% of the bits for each playset and they were fine about it they just said to include as much as possible.

    They were very helpful

    What's wrong with the toys?
  • the magnets can come loose off the polly pocket ones, some batman toys and doggy daycare sets and the paint on the pixar cars could have lead in it. I have tried the number many times and as said before its constantly engaged. I have sent an email to mattel, but goodness knows when we will get a reply!

i've had an email from mattel uk helpline saying that they have a backlog (understandably!) and will reply to my query in 3 - 5 days.

that's good if they will replace sets even with the bits missing!

    anybody heard anything else yet?

  • the telephone number 01628 500303 is permanently engaged, and if you get through you are put in a waiting list and end up getting cut off.

I spent much of Tuesday on the phone.

I gave up in the end and emailed them directly. UK, Helpline [HELPLINEUK@Mattel.com]

They replied quite quickly, (this was Tuesday mind) as someone posted above they will send you a prepaid enveleope to return the recalled toys and they will send a list of replacement products available for you to choose. Make sure you have the product number of the items you wish to send back when contacting them.

On the news today a spokeswoman apologised for not having enough staff to deal with it and said by the weekend they will have 24 hour call answering and a freephone number will be available.
