Buying a car with solid paint

Hi all
I've been on the hunt for a used VW Passat CC for the last 6 months and have finally found one with the perfect spec but the only concern I have is the paintwork is solid in Urano grey and isn't metallic.
Would this put buyers off if reselling the car in future and have a negative impact on the residual value?

For me it would be the opposite. Solid colour is easier to touch up little scrapes etc. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

The older the car gets the less people care about the colour and the more they care about how easy it is to fix.0

I swear they named that colour "Urano" to deliberately put people off. I think it actually looks quite good on some models, but "Urano"? Ew."Einstein never said most of the things attributed to him" - Mark Twain0

It might not be metallic but I would be surprised if it didn't have a laquer top coat like a metallic
If you like the colour then don't worry.
As has already been said a non metallic paint is much easier to match if the worst happens.
Also don't forget fashions change.
Look at the sheer number of white cars that are being sold new at the moment.
Nice to see car manufacturers are now starting to charge extra for white......0 -
The colour looks much better in the flesh than in pics. Its 4 years old so suppose it won't affect the value much in future.0

Grey is the new black.
Many people who have owned black cars, and realised that they always look dirty, unless you employ a chaufeur to clean it all the time, now buy gunmetal grey, as it is more classy than silver, and needs almost as little cleaning.
I've no idea why they buy white, except it hides dents and lumps of bodyfiller well.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

90% of my vans are white. They always look cleaner and fresher than the silver ones i have. Bought a black one last year.....never again!0 -
Well I've just bought the car and am getting it in a few days ☺0

I don't like metallic, it looks tacky, like someone has sprinkled your car with glitter.
Much prefer a solid colour.
Unless you mean someone has used house paint on the car?Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
Grey is always a safe colour.
But VAG do like to be different with their greys.. Remember Nimbus Grey on the first TT? Looks lovely when its freshly polished on a nice sunny day. But looks like a Battle ship every other day.0
