Santender Credit card

Used this site to see if I would qualify for their money back card, came back with 80%. Got a letter saying that on chkg my creedit reference with Experian they were unable to provide me with this service
This is strange as my CRs are clear (rated as excellent with Equifax) with all of the agencies. So there must be lending decision that resulted in this negative response.
Any ideas what that may be, is it worth appealing?
cheers

They don't necessarily mean that they've found anything bad. Just that they've looked at your data and you don't match the customer profile they're looking for today. I think you'd get the same letter about credit agencies even if they turned you down because of your employment details.
Some people on here seem to have some joy from appealing. There's nothing to lose!:)0 -
Have you previously had any issues with Abbey, A&L, B&B etc. They may still hold info on you even if it is no longer with the CRAs. Or it could be that your profile just does not fit.0

It could certainly be worth your while appealing Santander's decision; as shortcrust says there's nothing to lose.
Failing that there's also nothing stopping you from trying again in six months' time. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
It could be to do with your income to debt ratio.
Was Santander ever part of your previous bankruptcy?Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0
