Mon 20th July - What small DFW-style things will you be doing today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free!
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending!
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Sorry to hear you feel blue Ally. Hope you can get through it.
It was nice to see your late post JoJo glad your back around again. You are right it's horrible to lose your account. Because I joined in 2005 I can't use email with this account as they won't link my new email address (changed when I married and took a new name in 2006) to this one. So I can't get email alerts for PMs, thread posts etc. I just have to remember to look at my contact centre on here. But it's a choice of that or not being Bobarella.
Well it's the 20th. We still have to get to the 31st before pay so no time to go soft on the debt free wannabee ways.
Have a good day all.

Jeez it's been a hectic morning here! Dgd woke up at 6, both oh & I were shattered! And with so much time to wake up by 7 she was FULL of beans :shocked: so instead of getting everything I wanted to get done done, it was very hectic!
small things for today:
Already done:
* tidied up downstairs
* made packed lunches for me and dgd
* made a batch of jelly as yogurt has almost run out and can't do shopping until later in the week
* made jacket spuds for quick dinner tonight
* added a few extras needed to shopping list
* partially flyladied the kitchen will finish off tonight
Still to do:
* getting a lift from someone in town to training course. Am hoping she won't want petrol (as know her expenses will be paid for by work, but will still have to offer...) Hopefully saving £10
* training course all day so no utilities ect. used
* finish flyladying
* go for a run
* NSD hopefully!
* email friend and see if she'll babysit one night this week
* water plants
* might plant up some more lettuce
Ok think that's all I'll have time for have a lovely day xDF as at 30/12/16

Morning all!
Just catching up after a busy weekend.
I didn't post yesterday as among other things I spent several hours with my head in the freezer defrosting it in preparation for the fruit & veg I'm hoping to fill it with. The problem is that I already had it fairly stuffed full, so I had to take a few things out that I need to use up quickly.
My great nephew's wife gave birth at the weekend to a baby boy, who arrived a month early but was still a good size & is absolutely fine. I now feel very old, as I'm now a great great aunt (& no, I'm not THAT old, we all just started early!)
Bob - You must be so relieved about the plumbing and the dishwasher - your OH sounds a star! I should think that all that water you were stood in were your tears! I know how hard it is running a cafe as I did it too several years ago. My job was supposed to be accounts, payroll etc in a garden centre but after I had made one too many suggestions concerning the cafe, I was asked to run it, & this was on top of my 'proper' job. I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge but it was hard work! It must be even harder for you, with it being your own business that you depend on for your income. Do you do all the baking too?
Foxgloves - what an awful thing to have happened, but the main thing is that no-one was injured. It could have been so much worse. Were there any witnesses?
Maria - I googled Llanddeusant a few days ago & saw there were 2 places with that name, but I think the one you mentioned must be the one near Llandovery? The other is in Anglesey. I know Llandovery quite well as we often pass through it.
It's my turn today for jam making - I made blackcurrant & gooseberry (mixed together) last year & it was lovely so am making some again with fruit picked from the garden. I saw the first ripe blackberries yesterday, so they won't be long now.
Hope you all have a good day.

Good Morning All
Ally -Thanks for starting us off today, hope your black dog lifts (am struggling with mine too at the min)
Bob - Sorry to hear of your struggles this weekend, glad your OH was able to sort for you - he does sound a diamond. Hope that business is steady for you this week
Foxgloves - Shocking and could have been so much worse, take it easy today, be kind to yourself today. Let's hope he caught on one of the many cameras we are apparently being watched by.
Hugs and love to all the rest of you, love hearing all the house ideas, jam making and general life - makes me feel I have friends.
Hi to all of the regulars and a BIG welcome to all the newbies, this is a really FAB thread with so many lovely, caring, considerate and supportive people.
Celebrated the first day of the school holidays with a little lie in which was rudely interrupted by a skip being delivered at 7.15 at one of the houses being done-up on our street. Really need to start thinking of our holiday prep - we go Friday evening :eek: we're taking our caravan to Devon for 2 weeks (we have also made the difficult decision to sell our caravan after this holiday)

Its wet and grey this morning
Ally, thanks for the start, sorry to hear that you are feeling low.
Bob, ds2 will have to try much harder I think with his karate, saying that though, I'm not in a rush for him to get through his belts he started when he turned 6 whereas ds1 was nearly 8 I think, so more mature and able to take instruction better. My dad on the other hand is going to be moaning about his own result for a lonnnnnggggggggggggggggggg time to come!
Dnms, Hope dgd is fully recovered now? You sound like you've been very busy this morning!

Oh, joy! My post has just been eaten. Here we go again......
First, though, thanks to everyone for supportive comments after our car crash yesterday. Bob- you asked why he did it? He was, I think, just an appallingly dangerous psycho driver. The A1 is only 2 carriageways through Lincs. We were on the inside lane & there was another car next to us (passing us) in the outside lane. Psycho tried to overtake the car in the fast lane on the inside, by forcing his way up the middle of the 2 lanes, but there isn't enough room for 3 cars, so he swerved & rammed us off the road so he could get through. I really hope he at least gets done for speeding on one of the cameras, but you know, with our luck, we will probably have got caught ourselves, as we did give chase. Grrrrrr. What I wouldn't do to him, given the chance. I can't bear injustice of any kind.
OK, will try to get today's post on again now.

Hi All
Foxgloves, truly awful thing to happen. Did you report to police as often lorries now have cameras and a kind driver may later send a copy to police. Sometimes people get lucky.
Ally, hope you feel better soon and get your bounceability back. 2 p.m. is nearly here!
Quiet day here on cash front.
Had the most lovely lovely weekend surrounded by DD and DS2 and lovely sister phone calls. Am so grateful for family.
Have a good day everyone.
