Wowcher Refund

I recently decided to use wowcher for the first time. I saw some garden items i wanted and clicked to 'buy'. I naively thought I was entering into a buying contract and by handing over £60 I would receive my goods. I waited but no goods. Then after a weeks or so, I realised that I asked where my product was and was told i should have redeemed my wowcher! I then asked for a refund and was told no because i didn't redeem my wowcher. This means they have my money but i have no product. They claimed to have emailed me but unfortunately they emailed me so many times that I didn't look because they were seemed to be trying to sell me other products. Where do I stand on this?

Has the voucher timed out.
Not a lot you can do to be honest, It will be in the terms and conditions (which you obviously haven't read properly) that if you don't redeem within a certain time, you will lose out.
Appeal to them once more, then you will just have to move on.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
If you paid via paypal or debit/credit cards, you could try and claim back through the refund methods available based on non receipt of goods.
I suspect that you could argue that the terms and conditions are unfair.., but I doubt you will have to.
Certainly won't lose anything by trying.
Like you, I used Wowcher once.., did redeem the voucher but never received the goods or a reply to my enquiry. Did get a refund through paypal but will never use anything like this again.., it all seems rather suspect as I am sure there are a lot of people who lose money like yourself for not redeeming the voucher so they make money for doing nothing.0 -
Thanks for that. Live and learn I suppose!! Does anyone know what trading standards view is on the likes of wowcher?0

I suppose technically speaking you did receive something - wowcher aren't selling the goods they are selling the voucher to enable you to get the goods at a discounted rate. You just chose not to use it or in this case forgot to use it. Either way the actual item you went to purchase was delivered and they even (as you stated) tried to warn of this - so really they went above and beyond.
You could try appealing once again to their better nature but otherwise I'd chalk this up as experience.0 -
Can anyone help me?
I purchased a wowcher for £999 for dental treatment. Voucher stated that 'if deemed medically unsuitable a full refund will be given' Turns out it was medically unsuitable for me. The dentist had to put this in writing for me in order to claim back my £999 from Wowcher. This took a lot of chasing but they have finally put this in writing for me but Wowcher are now saying it's too late and I am not entitled to a refund but they will be happy to put £999 worth of points onto my Wowcher account, but that won't pay my credit card repayments!!!! Do I have a leg to stand on or not in this situation?
It feels extrememly dodgy as I have NO product to show for my £999, nobody is out of pocket except me!! please help!0 -
The same thing happened to me - Wowcher have my money & I don't have any goods - surely this can't be legal even if it is in the terms & conditions? They are refusing to give me my money back & have given me a credit so now I have to wait till something I want turns up.... I can't believe it
Someone please help0 -

Why do you not have the goods?
Wowcher provided you with a voucher?
Every one of their pages has a "how to Redeem" box, did you read and follow that?0 -
Its not all WOWcher, its more like OUCHer
I made a purchase for a holiday then they said transfer were not included (it didnt say they werent on the description, it said it was all inclusive), as it was being dealt by some cheap travel agents who then charged half the holiday cost to cover cost of transfers (which should have cost no more than £30)
The holiday was then cancelled and a refund was issued. But part was paid using wowcher credit which wasnt refunded.
Tried emailing and it didnt get a reply. so had to call, but finding there number is difficult only noticed it in small print on contact page right at the bottom. They dont want people calling them maybe.
So the woucher credit was refunded. Then I made a complaint about this (as it should have been automatically refunded. If I didnt chase it up it would have been forgotton). Then they revoked the credit, so back to zero. Finally rang again and it was re-isssued....
I still say "WOW" at how I have to argue to get hold of my own money.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Very bad experience!
I bought a Christmas tree on wowcher.com that was advertised as "6ft Extra-Thick Tipped Christmas Tree" for £19, from Groundlevel. When it arrived, it was only 5ft and the thinnest Christmas tree I have ever seen, made from the cheap material, and giving the overall impression of being a very sad looking Christmas tree that probably costed £5 to make, if that. I feel tricked and lied to. I will never use Wowcher again. This is not the first experience. I also bought LED lights that looked nothing like the picture on the website, and do not properly work.0
