I recently received a letter from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd in relation to a supposed parking notice issued on my car.
I did receive the original Parking Charge Notice issued by UKPPO but chose to ignore it
The notice was given for not having my permit displayed (although this always lives on my dashboard) and the parking space in question is mine, that I do have a permit for, and have parked in since November 2013 and is registered to the property I rent.
I sent an email to DRP contesting this notice on the grounds that the parking space is mine and that I do hold a permit to park there but they reply stated that "As per the British Parking Association Code of Practise, Point 22.7, the time to challenge the charge has now expired... blah blah blah and I am still liable to pay.
Obviously, I have no intention of paying a fine for parking in my designated parking space as allocated in my tenancy agreement. When I spoke to them on the phone they informed me that there was no photographic evidence that my permit was not displayed.
I did some research in to UK Parking Patrol Office Limited who are the company that issued the original notice and am intrigued by the fact they are registered with Companies House as 'Dormant'.
The original notice states that payment should be made to UKPPOL but my question is how is it possible for a company to be trading and trying to enforce charges when the company is registered as dormant?
Shall I just ignore all future correspondence from DRP or challenge them further?
Any advice would be welcome.
Thanks

There is a possibility that I have misread some information and they are currently an active company... im a bit confused.
Shall I just bin all these letters and see what happens?0 -
read post #4 of the NEWBIES sticky thread
only deal with an LBC or an MCOL, initiated by the PPC or landowner (usually the PPC if anybody tries it on)
DRP should be ESPECIALLY ignored
its not a "fine" either, its a speculative INVOICE0
