Is your oven, one with a grill inside it? I ask as our oven stopped working but the grill still worked. I managed to use the grill for all sorts of things, from crisping off pasta bakes to warming up things that would usually be done in the oven.
I also think a table top oven or combi microwave can be really handy. I got one for £30 from the Argos internet site.

Yes, it's an oven with a grill but that isn't working either. It isn't long term we will be without an oven as it will be repaired as it's only just over 2 years old so I'd rather not have to buy anything as I can put that money towards paying the repair bill.

Just after some other meal suggestions beyond the ones I already have.

Anything you cooked in the Forman will cook in a frying pan I use a non stick pan, never add oil. Also do the grandsons fish fingers and waffles in the pan as I'm not heating the oven just for those

I am lucky that I only use my big oven for batch baking as I have a Remoska and its the best buy I have ever had.probably not the answer to your problem though as they are quite pricey now.Mine cost around £100 when I bought it several years ago.But there was a post on here where a lady said her Mum found one at a boot fair for £2.00 !!!
I use my slow cooker for making batches of sauce for curries, spag bol and chilli which then get portioned up for the freezer.

you can do pizzas in either a microwave or in a fryingpan on the hob.
The hob version is nicer for crispiness.

I need some meal ideas please. Our 2 year old oven has stopped working! Normally I'd just put anything in the George Foreman instead, but that is losing its non-stick coating and from previous experience of them, I know it's heading for the bin. So, until I can call someone out to look at the oven, I have the hobs, a microwave and a slow cooker. I've got ideas of
    spag bol
    stir fry
    curry
    fajitas
    jacket pots (in microwave)
    Omelettes

Family of 4, 2 adults at f-time work, 2 kids, 12yo booked into various summer day camps for first half of holidays and 15yo at home.

    Macaroni cheese
    Chilli con carne
    Boiled gammon
    Poach or fry chicken.

A whole poached chicken is so silky and tender
    • Whole or half chicken
    • Selection of leeks, carrots, celery
    • Thyme
    • A few peppercorns

Put your chicken or half chicken in a large saucepan or casserole along with stock vegetables, spices and aromatics. Add enough water to cover, bring up to a simmer and skim the surface. The secret is then to never let the liquid boil – if you have a meat or jam thermometer, keep it at about 85ºC. A half chicken will take about an hour from the time it reaches simmering point, and a whole bird about 15-30 minutes longer.

    sausage and mash
    sausage hot pot

    sausage pasta
    pork chops, lamb chops
    carbonara
    Frying pan pizza

    fritters.......... vegetable or fruit
lots of lovely recipes on the internet
    Burgers
Mince and mash basically a shepherds pie cooked on the hob
    Pancakes.........English or American
    HM soups
sponge puddings can be made in the microwave or on the hob as can rice pudding
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Thank you Butterfly Brain BUT the oven has started working again! :j

I hadn't even got round to cleaning it in order to call the repair man out. :o

Caught teenager putting chicken nuggets and chips in earlier, told him oven wasn't working, he said it was and he'd cooked something in it yesterday too, when I was out. Sure enough he was right.

No idea what happened but glad I don't have another bill. :T
