Oven broken and GF on last legs

I need some meal ideas please. Our 2 year old oven has stopped working! Normally I'd just put anything in the George Foreman instead, but that is losing its non-stick coating and from previous experience of them, I know it's heading for the bin. So, until I can call someone out to look at the oven, I have the hobs, a microwave and a slow cooker. I've got ideas of
spag bol
stir fry
curry
fajitas
jacket pots (in microwave)
Omelettes
Family of 4, 2 adults at f-time work, 2 kids, 12yo booked into various summer day camps for first half of holidays and 15yo at home.

What do you normally cook in the oven?0

If you usually use the oven for roasting chicken roasts well in a slow cooker but really apart from yorkshire puds and roasting meats I rarely use the oven . What are you missing cooking ?I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Got it folks. Girlfriend is tied to the stove and they have no money!0

I use the oven for all sorts, pizzas, pies, quiches, the cheesy topping on things like pasta bakes and fish pie, yorkshire puddings, things like chicken nuggets and fish fingers for the younger one if we need a quick tea.
Things like pork steaks, spare ribs, I would usually do in the George Foreman if the oven wasn't available I could not abide how a pork joint came out in the sc, and wasn't keen on the full chicken I did, prefer it roasted though have been happy with doing a beef joint in it.0 -
Our oven stopped working a few months ago and I have been using my slow cooker as a substitute. Not too worried at the moment as we eat a lot of cold meals over the summer, I would be far more anxious if it was winter time.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

Ah pies, quiches, browning ...that's what I miss about not using an oven.
For now, if you have the space (so many kitchens are too small these days for worktop stuff), for £30 you could pick up a mini oven. They're great - they've got a timer too so you can forget about it until it pings. And, it might come in handy in the Xmas/similar period when you're trying to shove too much stuff in the oven all at the same time.
If you do have the cash/space then the great thing about them is you can walk into a shop, walk out with one, get it home, plug it in and it's good to go. No phoning round and needing installing.0 -
Good idea pastures new, but some are rather small so you have to look to see if it will take a standard tray.
I was going to suggest a halogen cooker, cheaper to run than a normal cooker and it cooks in less time, but you need round trays or casseroles, they do take a 6 cup bun tin thoughBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
