What am i entitled to.

Hi all im a new comer on here and was recommended by my girlfriend to post on here for advice.

I am working on ave 24hrs a week minimum wage with two part time jobs, one is shift work and not so not same hours each week, while other job is same hours each week. I currently live on my own in a private rented flat. I drive and commute to work, one job and walk the other. I have a mental impairment, it is a disability and was diagnosed this in 2010 its Aspergers syndrome.

I am struggling to to manage financially at the moment. Is there anything I can claim or entitled to. I have made a claim on working tax credits and awaiting to hear from them. My worry is if not entitled to that and that i am seriously struggle to afford to meet my means.
Any would be very welcome
Thanks in advance!

Mike

As you don't appear to be claiming any benefits at the moment then we would need to know your income/savings to advise on benefits.

As already said you need to work for 30 hrs a week if you are single, over 25 and not claiming disability allowances.

You can put your details into the benefit calculator on https://www.entitledto.co.uk to find out your entitlements.

If you are not eligible for any benefits then you need to increase your income or lower your expenditure.

Lots of useful information on this website about lowering your expenditure. Click on the topics on the top band of the site to find info about getting the lowest rate for utilities/internet/phones etc.

Also look at the Debtfree Wannabe forum and see how people are reducing their expenditure.

If your rent is high can you find somewhere cheaper/move back home/have a lodger?

Hope you get the general idea :)

As far as your rent goes you may possibly get some assistance however this depends on the LHA for your area and your income. If you are under 35 this would be based on the shared accommodation rate and if over 35 the one-bedroom rate - the benefits calculator listed above should cover this also
