Afternoon - what a lovely, if windy, day it turned out to be. The sun is still very warm though the clouds are racing through the sky like yachts. I went for a short walk to stretch my sore back out.

My piece of venison is still cooking, probably another 45 minutes to go before it's done. We won't have it tonight so I'll make a nice sauce /gravy with the juices for tomorrow.

I've been clearing more vegetation from the back garden, just where I had two huge bushes chainsawed down the other day, and then decided to spray the weeds coming up in the front gravel. I was just settle back in my seat when I decided to look at the weather forecast for the week - rain every day until the weekend - so then went out to cut the grass. It hasn't been done for nearly a fortnight so I didn't want to leave it til next week. Phew... all hot and bothered and sneezing.

Now I shall settle and read some more of my book.
  • Supper consumed, pork steaks from Aldi, cooked with roast courgette and spuds in the remoska, scrummy, Cauli and carrots and red wine gravy. We bought a bottle of Rose from Aldi, it smelt and tasted of strawberries, it was delicious chilled in the fridge.

I do find Aldi's meat is good value for money.

OH retired to bed for a snooze this afternoon, he was falling asleep watching the golf. I put the TV off and emersed myself in a book for an hour. He floated through when the smell of supper wafted through to him.
  • TA enjoy your break x

tiredmum, we all make mistakes, some people are just nasty snivelling little backstabbers and you are better off out of it. Something better will come along xx

Had a lovely time at the BBQ last night and rolled in at 1pm :D
Today has been a day of visiting, first we went to see DH's DSIS, who had a few DIY bits that needed doing, then over to see his Mum and Dad. All in all a pleasant day.
Dinner was HM quiche, new potatoes and salad followed by a nectarine tart which was lush, the family said you can do that again :D There is a little bit of quiche and tart left for tomorrow and DH and DS are snaffling it for their lunchboxes. DD has threatened them that if they don't leave some tart for her she will break their fingers :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Nice to have meals appreciated :D

Off to brush my teeth and then to bed.
    Sweet dreams all x
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
