Discounts for using PCP

Hi

I have the cash to buy a new car but it seems that my garage can offer better discounts if I use the PCP scheme.

They have 'suggested' that it wouldn't be a problem if I bought the car using the PCP and then paid it off within the 14 day cooling off period, thus benefitting from the discounts and not paying any interest/fees on the PCP.

I will obviously check out the terms and conditions, but does anyone see any major problems with this plan. Even if I pay a small amount of interest, they are talking of discounts worth around £900 if I use the PCP.

Many thanks for any help anyone can give.

Quite a common thing to do. Ford were recently offering £2.5K if you took out finance and many took advantage then paid off early.

Absolutely no problem with this, many people do it. I'm a bit surprised though that the dealer actually "suggested" that themselves, although at the end of the day it's no skin of their nose.
