Curtain rail problem

I have a bay window, so when putting up my blinds I had to install above the window, so I could get the windows cleaned without disrupting the blinds (windows are tilt & turn).

However I now have a problem with the curtain rail as the brackets do not pertrude out far enough to miss the blinds which are underneath the curtain rail.

Any diyers with a simple but ingenous solution?

how much clearance do you need? Screw a piece of wood to the wall in using the holes for the curtain brackets, then screw brackets to the wood.

Thought about that, but would need block of wood around 3-4 inches thick, then screws about 6 inches.

Just had a thought, could use square blocks of wood and maybe use conti joints to attatch to the wall, would that work?

Could you get bigger curtains and mount them outside the bay window?

There is a beam going straight across the bay window, but having a curtain rail there would make the room seem smaller plus I have a two seater fitting in the bay which would mean the curtains could not be closed.
