Apple Iphone warranty

Hey guys,
I am after some help/information please.
I have a 2 year contract with EE and I got the Iphone 5C. I started this contract in April 2014 but three months into this my phone had a fault and Apple replaced it on August 16th 2014.
Now this is where I have a problem, in the last week or so my phone as got a new fault. Apple state that you get a 1 year warranty with Iphone 5C's yet I have been talking to them and they want me to pay for a repair. I told them that my phone was replaced on the 16th of August and it should be in date of it's warranty. Just for them to tell me if a device is replaced the warranty only continues from the original purchase date or 90 day warranty. which ever is longest.
So now they want to charge me up to £206 pounds for a device that is faulty and hasn't lasted a year. Surely a brand new device should warrant a full years warranty?
Any information would be great.

Warranty terms usually state it runs from the original purchase date.
You do not just keep getting another years warranty. They are correct.0 -
Thanks for the reply. I just find it hard to believe that faulty products can be replaced yet they don't provide warranty on these devices that they expect you 2 pay so much for. Both times it's been down 2 manufactures fault and not my own. Yet I am expected to pay for poor workmanship?0

But you didn't pay for the second one. If you only got a years warranty then you can no longer claim through the warranty.
You may have rights under the SOGA if you feel that this phone is faulty and has been since purchase (an inherent fault) as its over 6 months you need to prove this is th case, and the fact it's a replacement may muddy waters slightly. You do have to prove this though through an independent report, and most companies seem unwilling to do this on apple devices. Worth a shot if you feel this is the case though. They would then, if proved inherently faulty, have the option to replace, repair or provide a proportionate refund based on your 14 ish months use0 -
As marliepanda says it may well be hard to get a report stating the iphone has a fault that was present when manufactured and even if you obtained the report, they may well offer a refurb as a like for like replacement or give a refund minus the 14 months use you have had, so you would be back to buying a refurb with that money.
To be honest you could probably buy a refurbished iphone 5c for less than the £206 it would cost you for a repair. I found if you go into the Apple store they often offer to sell a refurb if the iphone is faulty or stores like Game do iphone refurbs cheaper instore than their online store and give a years guarantee. I got DD2 a grade B refurb iphone 5c for £149 instore in Game recently (it was in mint condition, just graded B because it did not have the orginal box).0 -

But they do provide warranty on the devices, either the remainder of the 1 year warranty or 90 days, whichever is longer, just because you didn't make use of it within that time doesn't mean you didn't get it.
It's unreasonable to expect them to start a new warranty each time the phone is replaced, if that was the case then people would just start reporting any old fault to try and get a replacement phone each year before the warranty ran out, it would be a never ending cycle.
Why didn't you take out "AppleCare" coverage? Why didn't you take out insurance via EE?
Have you actually spoken to EE to see if they can offer you anything, since you have your contract with them and legally they're responsible under SOGA, not Apple.
Can you advise what your "new fault" is? Has this actually been confirmed as a hardware fault by Apple? Have you tried a restore of the iPhone via iTunes?
