Argos do recognise the SOGA. It's you that doesn't understand it. For all Argos know you at the moment it could be user damage. You need a report stating that it's inherently faulty so Argos are obligated to provide a remedy which will include them paying the cost of the report.0

Bit of a difficult one.
In order to examine/inspect the item, it would have to be disassembled.
This would entail removing a security seal, which in turn would invalidate the OEM warranty and thus negate any chance of a replacement altogether.
So, it seems that the only real cost-effective solution is to take this one on the chin and never to shop at ARGOS again, especially for Trendnet products, which having just read a few reviews, are a overpriced tat.0 -

Why? How long was the warranty when you bought the item?0 -

All it may do is remove any chance of a successful claim under the manufacturer's warranty.
If the report confirms an inherent fault, then a Sale of Good s Act remedy, which could be a replacement, is assured.0 -
Do Argos still sell the item? Buy a new one and then after a couple of days take the old faulty one back with the new receipt, and explain it's broken and you'd like a refund. Not quite honest but you wont be out of pocket.
NB, I am not saying *I* would ever do this - I had a friend who worked for Argos and its long standing advice from her!0 -

But you don't seem to have contacted Trendnet, the ones who have given you the three year warranty.0
