I love the replies on here... advice needed not sarcastic posters putting in their two pence worth. maybe the engineer was looking for work.
Is it my fault I have a chance to purchase a property for less than its worth on the open market. No.
What gives anyone the right to judge me on here, you dont know me or my circumstances, then again I didn't realise it was a bear pit. Sit behind your keyboards and abuse those after genuine advice.
And you still don't get it?Official MR B fan club,dont go............................0 -
I don't think anyone who lives in social housing should post here unless they are prepared for the remarks of the jealous. It happens everytime.
Jealous? Living with a bunch of social screwers with their dreadful kids with the sound of shift workers coming and going at all hours?
Been there, done that and flogged it just before the council replaced the roof.0 -
Of course people are jealous. They are jealous that they haven't had the opportunity to have a dwelling with a lower rent, and/or that they couldn't buy their house at discount.TBeckett100 wrote: »Jealous? It's all a matter of "I pay a high rent so why shouldn't you?" and "I bought my house at market rent, so why shouldn't you?" It's the way children think but we should hopefully by now have grown out of it and be able to see the bigger picture.0 -
Nothing to do with jealousy. The OP has the opportunity to buy at a discount, however expecting the council to change the boiler beforehand is maybe pushing it a bit? Even if the council does change it, who's to say that they won't put in the cheapest one they can or do a bodge job since it will no longer be their problem after the sale.I don't think anyone who lives in social housing should post here unless they are prepared for the remarks of the jealous. Home ownership does come with those kind of expenses and if a boiler needs changing, I'd much rather have it done with my choice of boiler and installer rather than rely on the previous owner. I also wouldn't change it based on age; as I've already said, mine's 25 years old.Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0
