I had a windows update on my laptop this morning and since then if I do a Google search, the results come up in Yahoo, what's going on? I do not want the results in Yahoo, I'm quite happy with Google.
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world

Change search settings to what you want, click the little "Magnify glass" & set to Google UK.0

If above fails this advice from Chrome forum may work.To summarize, the issue is caused by malware that is may have gotten installed through a bundled installation (smaller programs that get installed when you're intention was to only install one specific program). Some users have identified YouTube Downloader Toolbar, iObit Toolbar, or some programs published by Spigot as the source of the bundled software installation that is causing all searches from the omnibox to redirect to Yahoo and not your default search setting.
Some workarounds that have worked (as shared by users in Ref[1] below):
Option a. Remove all contents in the folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Spigot\SearchSettings
Option b. In the Windows Control Panel (Start -> Control Panel -> Programs/Programs and Features), do you see a program called Search Settings or YouTube Downloader Toolbar? If so, can you try uninstalling it?
Option c. Another option is to bring up the Windows Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), and click on the Processes tab, do you see any files called SearchSettings.exe? If you do, right click the file and select Open File Location to identify where the file may be located

Thank for the help everyone, it seems it wasn't anything sinister, it was because after the restart MacAfee decided I would like safe search which uses Yahoo all I needed to do was delete it in manage search engines.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0

Mine reminds me now & then that "Safe search is off & would you like to turn it on?" for no apparent reason. I clicked on yes the other day just to see what happens & got Yahoo, I now know to ignore it next time it appears.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0
