Morning. Short list:
Nillionaire Month 2
:grinheart Haul self off to work today. I do hope they will finalise the rest of my shifts for the coming week soon. Uncertainty plays havoc with my Black Dog. And even though I know that worry is pointless...I worry anyway. Use some Rescue Remedy/White Chestnut/Sweet Chestnut from stores.
:grinheart Take packed lunch.
:grinheart Try out my new jeans. Brand new M&S from a charity shop for £5.49.

Hi pepper try know to worry "know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum"
First things first, when do you get paid? what have you got in the house by way of food (and I mean everything!)? do you have any bills ect that you need to pay? You can get through this, it will be ok and you will feel a sense of achievement when you do xDF as at 30/12/16

Morning guys  raining cats & dogs here but forecast says it's gonna clear up by 10.
Thought dgd's illness yesterday was going to turn into chicken pox as she developed a rash all over her chest and back but this morning she is back to her usual self and the rash has gone :j
Got a chinese last nightI'm resolute I'm not going to feel bad about it! I used the money from the missing cheque so not come directly from my money
It was delicious and there is enough for lunch today
Ok small things:
* [STRIKE]email friend about visit - didn't do yesterday[/STRIKE]
* all meals from stores. Dinner will be a combination of lo's
* maybe go for a walk in the woods if the weather does indeed brighten up!
* make a cake for dgd's packed lunches next week. Lemon drizzle I think
* [STRIKE]studying for course tomorrow. Must do today while dgd is having her nap[/STRIKE] Managed to do it this morning & oh has had lo
* [STRIKE]email and withdraw my application from position I have an interview for on Tuesday.[/STRIKE] Have decided I won't accept the position if they offered it to me (too far, too great a pay drop - not that I'm overly concerned with a salary drop but I would be in the same position as I was in before and I was finding it too hard travelling between 1.5-2 hrs each day meant that a 37 hr a week position became 45+ - and the job doesn't interest me) so doesn't seem worth the £10 petrol it will cost to get there this felt very brave and authentic!
* NSD
* call woman from the training course and confirm I can get a lift with her
Think that's all I need to do. Have a lovely day xDF as at 30/12/16

Humm not feeling great today. I'm tired and the thought of a pretty busy day at work is not doing it for me right now. Despite us getting home late and putting son to bed late (9pm) he was up in the night around 1.30 trying to sleep on our bed but flopping around and generally not being asleep. OH transplanted him back into his own bed around 2.30.
Also on the slightly rubbish side the main sink at the shop is blocked solid for some reason. Have tried two treatments of the granules you put down the sink to clear it and by Friday nothing was draining. Worryingly the hand wash sink was also very slow to drain. Which makes me fear something is going wrong in the general pipe system (shows my knowledge of plumbing) OH is off to have a go at clearing the kitchen sink in a bit. Am hoping he can sort it although also what a horrible job on a Sunday morning. It needs to be stench free by the afternoon when the party is happening.
Between jobs for our tenant, & the shop I sometimes feel like poor OH never gets what normal people would consider a weekend. But I remind myself that we are saving ££s with every job we tackle ourselves.
Sorry for the pity party today folks!

Hi All
Foxgloves am so jealous, wow, that is a serious jam and fruit session. Bob christening sounds fab!
Made another batch of blackcurrant jam this morning. Dogs helped me to pick them this morning!
Am now going for a nap. So tiring playing in garden and kitchen.
Have a lovely day everyone.

Boo. Husband can't find anything blocking the sink that is visible in any of the pipes he can access. Now panicking that this is going to mean an expensive plumbing visit.
I do know a nice plumber but anything to do with a call out is going to be £100 plus I'm going to guess. Plus I can't really cope with having no running water in a commercial kitchen. Managed to do it on Friday by running a big bowl of soapy water to wash up in and then dumping it down the loo every time I needed to change it. Which is a hassle as I'm sure you can imagine. Sigh..." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Sorry to hear about the plumbing problems, Bob, it's horrible having stuff go wrong that you can't fix yourself.
Pepper, I will second (third! fourth!) doing an inventory of what you have in store and posting it over on the Old Style board if you're still stuck for inspiration. I've just done this and managed to rustle together 4 'proper' meals, a cooked breakfast and toppings for jacket potatoes.
The jam making sounds wonderful, we get a bumper crop of fruit on the brambles that are mixed in with the honeysuckle growing over from the railway line but I'm too paranoid about the whole sterilizing of jars business (I'd never believe they were clean enough) so I leave them for the birds!
My weekend so far...
Yesterday we nipped to the £1 shop for toiletries and envelopes for me to leaflet the (elevated!) ground floor flats of the nice development near the river. There are far more blocks than we thought so we will have to go back later today with more.
Then we went to look at a 'maybe' house which was really nice, I must look at the square footage, it felt a bit smaller than here though it could be about the same. The sitting room, kitchen and both bedrooms were all a little larger than here but we'd be losing the utility room, downstairs loo and study. The garden was about the same size but a more useful shape than ours and has a brick-built store.
The down side is that it's on a busy road (but set back from the road by quite a bit), there is an industrial estate the other side of the side road (but we wouldn't even see that once we were indoors) and there *may* be a huge estate being built to the other side of it (which will need more looking into but apparently the land to the back of the house is farmland and won't form part of the estate.)
I'm thinking that, once mine is under offer again, if nothing else has come up in the roads we love (which would always be our first choice) or the riverside flats I might put in an offer but we'll see. Sorry to be a property bore, I know this seems to be dragging on forever but there is so little on the market at the moment and what there is has been on for ages and isn't selling for good reasons!
I did a small Mr T shop to stock up on cat food, butter etc and snack-type things for DS during the week and the nicest CS assistant was working and added the clubcard points from 4 out of date wombled receipts that the nasty lady wouldn't add last week totalling 35 points, I was delighted!
Last night DH bought a Chinese takeaway (not my money so I wasn't about to refuse!) and we started rewatching a 'My name is Earl' box set.
This morning I was first up and so far I have:- Fed the cats
- Changed the cat litter
- Put on a washing load
- Done last nights washing up
- Peeled the potatoes for a late roast dinner
- Looked into renting a rug doctor machine since the carpet cleaners haven't got back to me (nor the floor sanders ) The machines sound heavy and cumbersome and the stair carpet is the worst so I'm going to try carpet shampoo and a scrubbing brush.
What needs doing but hasn't been done yet is:- Take up the wood bits in the garden and sow seeds in the earth beneath.
- Paint the fire breast wall a more seller-friendly colour. (Done!)
Have a good rest of the weekend everyone!Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Oh Bob your plumbing situation sounds like a nightmare. Just when you had had such a nice time at the christening too. I am hoping for a drain unblocking miracle for you!
Been shopping with DS2 and bought him an XBox game on condition that he does some jobs for me in the house this week to help pay it off. OH has taken DS1 fishing. I tried to talk to DS2 a little about his brother and how his learning difficulties/possible autism affects his behaviour but as usual I got nowhere. DS2 just changes the subject but I know that it affects him. At least he has had a nice day with me and some rare quality time with his Mum.
Turns out that the cricket batting gloves DS has been using (that were a hand-me-downs) are falling apart and he didnt want to ask for new ones. He rarely gets new stuff like this and he was so pleased with the £12 ones we found.
So its been a spendy day but all within budget, although spending on shoes and clothes for both of the kids is never ending at the moment. 1 pair of trainers, 2 t-shirts, some cricket gloves and some socks set us back £60.
Then lunch at As@a £8 in total and the xbox game means that nearly £100 has gone out of the account today.
Sorry Pepper I know its tough for your right now. I have been there too so I wish you the best with it. Starting this journey is the hardest part.
Sorry for waffling, need to do something exciting with a small amount of chicken for tea, might also bake a cake - and the dog needs walking.0
