Live Mail has just stopped working

been working fine all day, just gone to check for any new mail and error 0x800C0148 has occurred and have absolutely no emails whatsoever! Help please! Have done nothing with the system or anti virus, etc, that could possibly affect it. (Using Windows 7, Microsoft Essentials & Firefox)

    Have you tried logging on to live.com from Firefox ? (seeing as you have FF)

    Word has it that this problem is due to system file corruption.

    Two options are available <details here> (about half way down the page) to repair your system files using System Restore or to download a utility to do it for you.

    Live.com has absolutely no connection with Live Mail.

    Live Mail is just an email program produced by MS that can, and probably is, in most cases used to connect to just about any email provider.

    Always worth taking a periodic backup of emails using the Export facility in Live mail.

    Telling him to contact Talktalk or Virgin is just as valid. There is absolutely no indication of what email provider the OP uses. I use Live Mail on my own domain accounts as do a lot of other people.

    Common sense is not jumping to conclusions with no basis of fact
