Aa breakdown renewal
I am really annoyed with AA.
I have been paying £11 or so a month over the last 12 months for AA breakdown. I usually swap between AA and RAC after a period of 12 months, or I may stay with one if I can negotiate a good deal. The prices stated in the renewal letters are always huge.
Anyway this year I've had the usual renewal letter. AA are wanting £17 a month this time. I know I could go back to RAC at a more reasonable price or negotiate with AA at the amount RAC will charge. I also have not called out breakdown in a good few years. I Cant remember the last time I called someone out, so I've got no favourite between RAC and AA.
The renewal date is 5th August. Anyway, I didn't actually read the letter properly as once I knew the renewal date, I put it in my diary to ring and either cancel, or negotiate by then.
Anyway, I've checked my bank and a payment of £17 has come out to AA and when I checked the letter again, it does say on the back of the letter that the first payment of the renewal will be on, or around the 15th July 2015 ( obviously before the renewal date). So, I'm really annoyed by this.
Is this common practice with AA?
I am going to cancel tomorrow and go back to RAC. I'm presuming I can get the £17 refunded, but can anyone confirm this please?
Thank you
