Dyslexia Discrimination

Hi,
An employee had a probationary meeting after the manager was on leave for a month during which time which a few deadlines were missed and probation was extended "by a couple of months" which actually was 3 during which the employee said they had trouble with deadlines due to their dyslexia which was noted on the medical questionnaire. Weekly meetings were booked in none of which the manager attended. After 4 weeks there were some more concerns things filled incorrectly things like that no meetings or feedback just a note taken meeting after the 4 weeks. Which could be attributed to the employees dyslexia, it was decided line managers would be switched there wasnt any discussions about reasonable adjustments just access to a quiet room.
Would the employee have a grievance or DDA claim?

This isn't myself, the deadline was given verbally in passing conversation.0 -

OK, my point still remains to your friend, if they have dyslexia then surely you have to put more procedures in place to prevent missing deadlines, it isn't just a one catch all excuse.
The employer is shoddy in not doing the weekly meetings but there is no legal requirement for them to have them in the first place.Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -

Sorry to be repetitive - but how does dyslexia mean that someone misses a deadline which was given verbally?
What reasonable adjustments do you think the employer should have given? Seems they have been reasonable in changing the manager. But having a disability doesn't mean you get to not do your job.0 -

"How can I meet deadlines and make sure I deliver?
Dyslexia can mean difficulties with the sequencing, organising, reading, remembering and understanding of business information. It can also mean difficulties with time perception and time management.
Apparently.0 -
The employee won't have a DDA claim as the DDA is no longer in force. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Apparently.
Then I am afraid that if the business has critical deadlines to meet, your friend may well be in the wrong job. As I said, an employer has the right to expect that the job is done, and I cannot see what adjustments you think are possible to ensure that your friend does their job, if they cannot understand deadlines.0 -
What does your "friend" want to happen?0
