Will keep this short and sweet.
I purchased computer parts about 8 weeks ago which included the building of the system, everything arrived and was in order.

The computer case is a bitfenix prodigy case and yesterday i noticed that it was not sitting level, upon investigation i spotted that the plastic base/footing which is held in place by 4 screws and 4 plastic lugs was broken on 1 corner (1 plastic lug) this corner of the pc now looks odd and ugly. My guess is that the components are just a tad to heavy for these plastic lugs to support, hence they break easily

today i take pictures and open support tickets with the 2 companies involved
company 1 (overclockers) that i purchased the system from.
company 2 (bitfenix) who manufacture the case.

both replied overclockers said and i quote their reply
Dear Me,

The base can be replaced but you would need to contact bitfenix who will send a replacement. Its a really quick job - Unscrew the 4 base screws and slide off. Then do the reverse to install the new part.
company 2 bitfenix asked me to resend my pictures as they were over 2mb each in size, this i have done and as yet they have not responded.

My question is who should i be asking for a replacement part Bitfenix or overclockers?

apparently this is quite a common problem and is not limited to myself after googling i am not the only one who has had this happen to them

below is overclockers warrenty terms

    Looking at this...

Seems a pretty common and simple fix. I'd do this over overclockers as a return, purely as your system is built and at least this way you get to use it while waiting for the part to come.

    Agreed.

Sometimes it is worth enforcing your rights against the retailer, sometimes it isn't.

Given the simplicity of the fix I'd say this is definitely a case of being easier to just deal with the manufacturer, get the replacements and spend a few minutes fixing it yourself.
  • Yeah i saw that thread too hence why i also raised a support ticket with bitfenix, that is the route i am going to go down.

however in the above case, who should of been my first port of call and who should be sorting the above problem bitfenix or overclockers?

i have also decided to obtain some custom feet ready for the next time the part breaks and i will just swap the whole part out.

    thanks
