You don't get Windows 10 if you don't have a genuine copy of Windows 7/8. And they don't think mine is genuine...0

I thought it had been stated quite widely in the press that Microsoft were actually going to allow updates to win 10 on unlicensed versions of older operating systems.
this was greatly welcomed in china , where less than (I think it was) 1% hold genuine keys0 -

I'm no expert, but I thought that, although it was widely stated in the press originally, it has since been clarified that only genuine editions will get it. For what it's worth, I haven't had a 'get Windows 10 for free' icon come up in my taskbar...0 -
you can enable the "get windows 10 now" , by simply running a command
