Debt on my account...

Hi guys
Long story short I've been defaulting on an overdraft since Apr 2011 which I had with a very old bank account (which I had since 2002) and having only just checked my Noddle credit account realised that this was counting as a default on my account every month since then.
However the balance history only gives me DFs back to Sept 2013? Is this the date the debt was passed to the agency (Mkdp LLP) and with the 7 year rule where defaults are removed does this count from Sept 13 or from the original default of Apr 11?
I only ask as in 3 months time I'm emigrating to Canada for 2 years on a working holiday visa and I'm wondering whether to pay it off before I go? I know it's unethical but I need all the money I have saved for when I get over there and if it does get wiped after 7 years there will only be a few months left on it by the time my VISA is up?
Hope this all makes sense!
Thanks guys
Mike

If you originally defaulted in 2011, then they will fall from your file after 6 years, not 7. So April 2017 they will disappear. However, if you've made payment towards the debt since this date, or wrote to the creditor and acknowledged it, then the 6 years begins from the date last payment or written acknowledgement was made.
They record defaults each month as you have defaulted but its a different sort of default from the official one, if that makes sense. The monthly ones are just information about your account.0 -
