Travel insurance.

Hi,
I have only ever taken out multi trip annual travel insurance, but as we will only be doing one trip this year (times are hard...
) I thought it would be more prudent to save the reddies and buy a single trip policy.
So my question is, what date should you enter as policy start date? Should it be a few days before in case the trip is cancelled, or does it have to start on the day you fly?
TIA for any help with this!

For single trip you enter the dates of your holiday - it automatically starts the day you buy it
For annual cover you enter the date you want it to start at which should be when you are buying your holiday if its your first policy or the expiry date of your old policy if you already have one0 -

That's interesting. I've only ever had annual insurance so I wasn't aware.
So, for example, if someone took out a single trip policy today giving dates for a booked September holiday they'd be covered for illness, cancellation etc. from today?0 -

Thanks for that. It's not something I've ever needed to do but useful information none the less.0
