Home Insurance Renewal

Hi All,

First post, so go easy on me!

We have recently claimed on our home insurance - with ASDA. The work is being completed as I type (it's minor redecoration after a burst pipe). Our renewal is due 5 September and we've received renewal documents detailing almost double the last years premiums. They are also doubling the excess from £100 to £200 for any claims in future - this our first claim ... ever!
I would normally be straight onto the comparison sites to find a cheaper quote as I do this every year, but my concern is that we are obliged to continue with ASDA because of this recent claim ... is this the case?

Any comments welcome please

i would still be shopping around for the best deal and go witth that. i wouldn't say you're obligated to go with that company just because you've had a claim. actually thinking about it, i had a claim with direct line and when my renewal came up i went with someone else..so go with who over you want i say!!!

If the claim has been settled and paid for you don't have to stay with ASDA.

I *think* the only time Iv'e seen folks on this site saying to stay with a co is if the claim is still ongoing.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
