Appealing selection scores

Hi,
Due to a restrucure I was placed at risk of redundancy last week and have been unsuccessful in gaining one of the posts in the new structure.
I do not believe that the scores I received in the selection process were fair.
I have been told that I am not able to appeal these scores.
I have been told that if I am unsucessful in obtaining a suitable alternative post that I will, at that point, be able to appeal the process, but still not the scores for these posts.
However, my faith and trust in what I am being told is at an all time low and so I would like to know from the knowledgeable people on this forum if that is indeed the case in law that selection scores can not be appealed.
Thanks for any responses.

You should be able to appeal if you feel that you were selected unfairly.ally.0

There is no law that says scores can't be appealed, but what do you think the purpose of it would be - if you appeal you are almost certain to get the same scores, and there probably won't be a suitable alternative job for you - so in 99 out of a 100 times, it's a double loss, the appeal and a job.
And don't confuse the law with the employers process. There isn't a law that says scores can't be appealed, but there also isn't one that says the employer must allow it either. Based on so little information nobody could really tell you what is fair and what isn't.0
