LTSB PPI complaints - help I'm confused!

Hi everyone
Hopefully this will all make sense...
I have sent 5 PPI complaints to LTSB (4 loan, 1 credit card).
I have received an acknowledgements for the CC which they are going to investigate.
I have also received acknowledgements for 3 of the 4 of the loans I have complained about and an acknowledgement for a loan I didn't complain about as I know I did not have PPI against this one.
They are going to investigate the 3 loans (including the one I haven't complained about)
The oldest loan I complained about from 1996 they are saying they are unable to investigate as they cannot find any LTSB loan accounts in my name so can't continue unless I send "any kind of documentation to evidence your account"
As I was getting confused I have put everything together to see which is which and what they are investigating and what they aren't and I have made sense of it and also spotted a mistake on my behalf on one of the complaints. That will teach me to try to save time and cut and paste the forms!
Anyway my wonderings are......
Am I best writing to the Complaints Department and breaking this all down for them so it's clear (I think that's the best option especially now I've written it down I'm confused again!) or is it best to telephone the helpline - again I think I will confuse them haha
Secondly what sort of evidence do I need to provide for my oldest loan? They say 'any kind of documentation to evidence my account' but I had put my account number on there so they should have found it on there. Seems a bit odd that they have found my other loans and credit card taken out on the same day but can't find me on their systems. I do have a 'customer notes' print out taken from the SAR I sent off for back in the bank charges day dating 2007 which has a breakdown of what they sold me back in 1996 so I will send that but wondered if there was anything else I should send too?
Also where I have filled in the form wrong - I hadn't cleared the previous employer so it's showing the wrong one - I am an idiot - should I complete a second form or just put it in writing to them to say I made an error etc?
Any help / advice would be much appreciated

You're over thinking.
Leave them to decide about the first three loans and the CC before you start confusing them too.
For the oldest, send what info you have.
They are only obliged to keep info as long as applicable so 20 years ago is way past applicabe. You may have to forget about that one.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
If LTSB is where you hold a current account which is still active, there's a good chance they will be able to locate the direct debits for the oldest loan in the transaction histories of this account. Ask the bank if they can search for them in their microfiche records
I wouldn't worry about the naming the wrong employer on the questionnaire unless the bank to you and ask for proof of sick pay etc0 -
Yeah I am sure good at over thinking

It is my current account so I'll send what I have and mention the microfiche records. I have the start and end date so hopefully they'll have some record of it. Nothing to lose.
I am going to write to them and resend the complaint they haven't acknowledged.
Thanks for your help
