I'll give you those details another time perhaps. Do you have any helpful info?

Ok, without details do you owe more than £2,887?
    It's someone else's fault.

my advice is to lose the attitude with those that were trying to help you, or maybe, just maybe. .....get a job??

OP states they have been placed in the support group, so it's not helpful to suggest they get a job.

    Technically you are owed, yes.

Usually the DWP will give you a call and ask if you're happy for the amount owed to be taken from the sum you owe the DWP though.

    There are exceptions, however.
Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.

It would appear that you have been overpaid in excess of the amount 'owed' to you. As you are repaying this to DWP they aren't going to give you money when it can, and should, be used to pay down the debt.
Simple reality is that DWP doesn't owe you anything, the debt has simply been reduced by the amount of the Support Group supplement. Maybe you should be grateful that you haven't been disallowed ESA completely as you would still have a massive debt to repay.
