Booking a multi centre holiday to USA

Hi everyone,

We are interested in booking a multi centre trip to New York/Las Vegas/San Francisco for next year. Could anyone advise the best way to do this? Websites or travel agent? Recommendations for hotels etc would be good.

Thanks in advance

How do you want to travel? Flydrive or someone else taking the responsibility? We went on a coach tour with Archers, was brilliant but tiring, very busy schedule

Looking at the BA website there is a Multi-city/stopovers option

SF to LV (or vice versa) is driveable, we did SF to LV a few years a go, visiting Yosemite, Sequoia/Kings Canyon (for 2 nights each) en route.

We used Trailfinders (Belfast office) to book our trip starting in NY then San Fran driving to LA with a few stops and then on to Vegas. We spent a few hours in the office building an itinerary and they're very knowledgeable about this kind of trip as they're common destinations. We checked DIY at the time but it wasn't saving a huge amount vs having it all done and checked for us.

Our NY hotel was the weakest so wouldn't recommend it although it may be down to not getting much for your money in Manhattan. The Chancellor Hotel in SF was great as it's in the main tourist area and although only 3 star it was perfect for the money. Vegas has so many hotels it's a case of picking where you want to be close to, the travel board has loads of info on Vegas.
  • Thanks everyone. Because we are planning the trip to the US we would feel safer using a Travel agent.

We will try Trailfinders and see how we get on.

We would not be interested in car hire but thank you for letting me know about it.

Hope to get things sorted soon :):):)

I usually use Trailfinders to give me rough idea of what I want to do then get someone to beat the price or book myself.
TBH the US is probably the easiest place in the world to do yourself.

One bit of advice would be to fly from Dublin if you need to use a carrier flying from Heathrow to your first destination and vice versa. If you fly into Heathrow from a foreign destination (don't start a political debate about Dublin being in a foreign country please!) and on out of the country again within 24 hours you don't pay Air Passenger Duty. This saved us so much that it paid for all the extra excursions we took on the Archers tour.

Well we booked holiday last Saturday with Trailfinders. We got exactly what we wanted and at a price that suited our pockets.

Very professional both on the phone and in the office.

Looking forward to the trip next March :)
