ive just looked in paypal file a complaint bit or words to that effect and found this

    PayPal Buyer Protection

icon_buyerProtection_30x30.gifIf you buy your item on eBay and your purchase meets certain criteria, PayPal will provide up to £500.00 GBP coverage at no additional cost. PayPal Buyer Protection covers:
    1. eBay items purchased with PayPal where payment is made to the seller's email address associated with the listing (make sure to pay with the grey Pay Now button found when the listing closes on eBay)
    2. Items that are never received or are significantly different to what was described in the listing
    3. Tangible items (physical goods that are delivered to you) only. Services and intangible items are not covered
    Other Limitations:
    1. You may only file one claim per PayPal payment
    2. Claims must be filed within 45 days of the PayPal payment
    3. Buyer Protection does not cover cases where you are simply disappointed with the item you have received
    4. You are limited to three PayPal Buyer Protection refunds per calendar year
    5. You must be willing to provide information during the investigation process, if requested
sso think your first course of actrion is file a chargeback as then you will be covered under paypal insurance but says can take up to thirty days to sort out. least this way you wont lose your money but i would do this asap as only have 45 dsays to do it.

    hope this helps

As the other responses have already suggested you need to start a chargeback with paypal immediately.

Log into your paypal account and at the top of the page there should be a 'resolution centre' tab, click on that and work through the system. It shouldn't matter that this was not an ebay sale.

If the company cannot prove delivery of the tent then paypal will find in your favour, however this can take some time but make sure you keep an eye on the paypal resolution system as it will be updated.

The bad news is though that if the company has gone bankrupt, or were fraudulent in the first place you might not get your money back even if paypal find in your favour. If you used a credit card to fund the payment though you also have the added protection that the credit card company is ultimately responsible and they do not rely on getting the money back from the company first. Credit card companies always try to wriggle out of helping, but you must keep on at them.

Whatever happens this is going to take some time i'm afraid. For a cheap tent meanwhile try Tesco, they have tents starting from £30.

Good luck. Feel free to ask more questions , one of us on here can often help.
