Foster Carer

As a foster carer, I believe we are not entitled to any benefits at all.
If they were our children with the same household income we would be.
Is this correct?

foster carers receive a generous allowance to meet the childs needs.
do you want this allowance PLUS claiming for them as part of your own family?[
foster carers also get an additional rax free allowance of unto 10k per full year for each child they foster.
if they foster a 14 year old for the whole year and an 8 year old for 2 months... their tax free allowance for the year would be @%k ( thats per household)/B]

Because Foster Carers receive a very generous Foster Carers Allowance.

When claiming Benefits the Foster Carers Allowance is generally disregarded as income so you are substantially better off financially than folk with their own kids.
These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.

My understanding is that foster carers can claim tax credits on the basis that they work full time but are deemed to have an income of zero.
