What is the point in paying for random items you may not want and in the overwhelming majority of cases paying more than the items are worth?

    people like to gamble

But why for possibly useless and overpriced tat when you can gamble for something you actually want or for cash you can use to buy it and at far less cost.

(I generally don't bother with mystery prizes on a free to enter competition never mind spend money on one)
  • Ordered the deluxe version but upon delivery I received a terrible little bluetooth speaker, an LED light and an LED security light.. This is ridiculous! Has anyone every received any of the top items? It's such a con and apparently over 10,000 people have bought this alone!! Let alone the other 'Mystery Boxes'. They must just walk round a car boot selecting the £1 items only! DON'T USE THIS!
  • As we know, these Groupon Mystery deals are cons. I received a item that was not listed on their advert, I complained and got credit for use on another purchase. I also kept the item.

I then used the credit to purchase the same deal, knowing that I'd receive the same rubbish. This time they refunded the money to my bank account, gave me £10 credit and I kept the item.

They are selling tens of thousands of these deals and I want people to stand up to them and get their refunds. Yes i've gained from it, however they shouldn't be able to get away with it. I wonder what percentage of people actually get any of the advertised items.
