No Response to this thread on the Pensions forum so will try here instead for experience of Global Income funds (apologies for those that frequent both forums)
I have recently retired at the ripe old age of 49. My DC company pension has approx £430K invested in:
10% Cash
20% Property fund
70% equities (70%UK 30% global)
On top of this I have approx £230K primary in cash. I want to start feeding this into a S&S ISA I can invest £15K now, I can then transfer £15K from a cash ISA in September, then another £40K from a cash ISA next April which along with the new years subscription would make £85K in S&S ISA along with £140K cash.
My intention is to put this into Global income funds with the aim of getting around 4% income. My rational being my Pension is primarily UK growth based so I want more global exposure, my cash acts as a proxy for bonds so I mainly want to focus on Global Income.
The First funds I am looking at are:
Standard Life Investments European Equity Income GB00B71L0M27
Artemis Global Income Fund Class I Distribution Units GB00B5N99561
The only problem with the Artemis fund is it is 33% US based and I'm not too confident on the US market at the mo'.
I also Like the look of a couple of the Newton Income funds (Asian Income and emerging Markets) but my Halifax platform does not seem to carry these.
Any comments on my overall strategy or the above funds in particular or any strong preferences for alternative funds in these sectors?
I will also be looking at moving some of my Cash into the Albion VCT once I know my tax position this year (awaiting P45, payslips etc)
I need £18K per year to live on.

Are you sure?
I have checked again.
All I see for BNY Mellon are Institutional Shares (class W). EG for Newton Global Income I see ISIN: GB00B8BQG486
These have a min investment of something like £10million. This is if I go through the Halifax Research Centre. If I try to access 'Deal Now' and select BNY Mellon I see no 'Newton' funds at all.
If anyone is on the Halifax platform for a S&S ISA can you see if you have access to non W class Newton funds.
If someone could let me know the ISIN for the Newton Global Income I could try that route.0 -
NEWTON GLOBAL INCOME FUND
STERLING INCOME SHARES (ISIN: GB00B0MY6T00)
A SUB-FUND OF BNY MELLON INVESTMENT FUNDS
THIS FUND IS MANAGED BY BNY MELLON FUND MANAGERS LIMITED
This is the bundled version0
