Good evening, I'm in the same situation as some others who have posted in this thread - actually, two of the party who I travelled with back in March had exactly the same policy and have received a good response.Like the others, I have a valid LG policy taken out before March 13th, and was denied my curtailment claim. My policy number is LGA16414025 and covers myself and my partner. Like others in this thread, my holiday was curtailed due to Covid lockdowns and closures in France. I tried to open a claim on 20th March 2020 after days spent on hold and unfortunately getting nowhere. I had a live chat session with a LeisureGuard representative, who assured me I was covered, but when I took this to Allianz I was (much later) informed that my claim had been rejected. After reading through the responses in this thread I feel I should be covered. I have a thoroughly detailed log of our trip, including itemised expenses and dates/times. I will re-submit the claim to the contact addresses listed in this thread (info@leisureguardsupport.com). Please can I ask you to review this claim and follow through with Allianz?

@Leisure_Guard
Unrelated to covid, my son spent some time in intensive care last January. Because of his change of health we notified you before travelling in February on a planned holiday. You charged us a significant fee for a "preexisting medical condition" (despite the fact it was not pre-existing at time of taking out insurance or booking the holiday, it was acute pneumonia and entirely unexpected). In order to travel we paid the fee and complained. Some 11 months on that complaint hasn't been resolved, our emails to ignored, and the once response I got in June "asked me to refrain from contacting them" as they were busy. Not resolving complaints professionally, esp those that precede covid cancellations is thoroughly unprofessional. Would it be possible to help us get resolution on this?0 -

LEISURE GUARD NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE
I took out a policy 3 years back where Page 13 of their policy listed a whole range of sporting activities with different categories ie hiking under 2km altitude giving the impression that if you went on a hiking trip under 2km you were covered. WRONG!!!! If you go on any sporting activity like skiing which is the main purpose of your trip and are within the category limits YOU ARE NOT covered due to the exclusion wording just above all the sporting activities. " If the activity listed is the main purpose of your tripWhile you are partaking in the event this is not covered "I put this hypothetical Question to Leisure GuardQ). I am considering taking out your policy but am slightly confused with the wording above all the scheduled sporting and recreational activities "While you are partaking in the event this is not covered "I will be Flying out to Abu Dhabi and going overland to Muscat to commence hiking in Oman which is the "EVENT" and being the main purpose of my trip so please clearly clarify if I will be fully covered and if not which aspects of my trip are excluded as will also be considering doing some diving and Kayaking near MuscatA). Thank you for contacting us today.. Apart from travel, if you are going on holiday for any other sole purposes you will not be covered. If we can be any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.Q).Hi not really a clear answer so need further clarification.. If Hiking is the main purpose of my trip am I covered for diving and kayaking and any other sport I decide to participate in other than hiking.
A). Not answered .
So as Leisure Guard are on this site please answer the following for the benefit of others considering Leisure Guard.Q1).If hiking is the main purpose of my trip am I covered during my stay for theft, falling down the Hotel Stairs or transport delays between hotels to different hiking locations
Q2). If hiking is the main purpose of my trip (say 70%) am I covered for Diving/ Kayaking or any other leisure activity
Q3). If I am on a non specific leisure Holiday and participate in a few days hiking a bit of Diving, snorkelling, sea kayaking etc am I covered for all activities for the duration of my trip.
Q4). If the answer to Q3) is yes that I am covered please clarify other the anomalies in cover by me declaring Hiking was the main purpose of my trip.
Q5). My husbands sole purpose of his trip is hiking and I suffer Acrophobia and both have separate Leisure Guard Cover. We both arrive in the Hotel lift and have our wallets stolen
a). Are we both equally covered and if not why not.
We travel by bus to the top of a 1.999Km high mountain. Where my husband is going to hike . As we disembark the bus we both take in the view and get mugged and passports stolen.
b). Are we both equally covered and if not why not.

.Our policies like most do not automatically cover for any activities which is the sole purpose of your trip, but we are able to refer this to our underwriters who may authorise cover for partaking in the activities which may be the main purpose of the trip.
If you sole purpose is for one of these activities then there are specialist insurers to cater for this and for additional premiums.

Sadly again you have not given clarity as to what you are and are not covered for and your failure to answer the questions put to give a clearer understanding leaves it all in doubt rather than battle it out after the event. So lets try another approach on this wording of yours. " If the activity listed is the main purpose of your trip While you are partaking in the event this is not covered "
If I go on a skiing holiday which is the main purpose of the trip you previously claimed I am only covered for travel. ???? whatever is that supposed to mean
So that I and Others have a clearer understanding of the cover offered for this Skiing holiday which is the main purpose of my trip just state a simple YES or NO against each of the Following once landing at the ski resort airport as part of the travel.
a). Am i covered for all instances from the airport bus to my Hotel.
b), Am I covered for all instances in my hotel prior to commencing skiing the following day
c). Am I covered for any all instances before and at breakfast.
d). Am I covered for all instances whilst preparing my sking equipment .
e). Am i covered for all instances going up the Ski lift or cable car.
f). Am i covered for all instances at the end of my ski jump and take of my gear.
g). .Am i covered for all instances travelling back to my Hotel shopping other activities etc.
h). Am i covered for all instances for the duration in the hotel that night up until item d). the next morning .
i). On my last day of skiing does my full cover commence when I have taken off my skiing equipment.
j). If the answer to i) above is No. Please advice exactly at which stage at the end of my skiing holiday I become fully covered.
The next Scenario is that toboggining was the main purpose of my trip but on arrival its out of service.
k). I have not skied before so am I covered for a skiing lesson and any accidental damage on day 1 .
l). I master Skiing rapidly and on day 2 am fully skilled and spent all day skiing am I fully covered.
The last Scenario is that I accompanied my partner and have separate insurance with you
m).Am I fully covered for all day to day eventualities.
n). I have never skied in my life and give it a go am I fully covered
o) as li) above0
