Problem with Smeg Washing machine

Hi, just wondering if anyone else have used build in smeg washing machine and had problems. The washing machine is new less then 3 months old when we started discovering problems with it. When we wash clothes it leave black marks on the clothes, so I am having to rewash the clothes. I have contacted Smeg and they sent engineers out who "Visually inspected the machine" and they say nothing is wrong, but the same thing keep on happening every now and then. I have run the machine at 90 degrees as they said, i use washing liquid. If anyone else have smeg i would like to hear your views. Thanks

It sounds like it's a build up of dirt inside your machine as a result of using liquid detergent. You probably need a few hot cycles to get rid of the dirt.

So buy yourself some Ariel biological soap powder (green box) and soda crystals. You can buy powder tablets if you prefer, but these give you far less control over your dosing control. Using half the recommended amount of soap powder and a cup of soda crystals, run the machine on the hottest cycle available. If you have options to add an extra rinse or intensive wash, use these also.

Run the above hot cycle with the detergent and soda crystals one more time, but adding a little vinegar to the drum before starting the cycle and a little vinegar to the fabric conditioner department. Don't worry, the machine won't smell of vinegar later - if it does, it will very quickly go away if you leave the drawer and door open for a few hours.

By all means use liquid detergent if that's what you prefer. But once a month, make a point of running the above cycle with soda crystals, biological soap powder and a little vinegar to try and keep your machine clean. You could even just wash your dusters or white bath towels on this cycle if you want them extra white!
