My laptop is running Win 7.

Recently my External USB Keyboard has stopped working even though there is a light which is on.

I have tried plugging into other USB on the computer but it still won't work.

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

If other devices work in those USB ports, that suggests the keyboard is faulty.

If the keyboard works with another machine, that suggests the laptop's USB is faulty.

It's just process of elimination to determine what's at fault ...

Check it on another machine as googler mentioned that way you will know if it's the USB port or the keyboard.

I had some issues with my Bluetooth receiver picking up another bluetooth device in the house. Might just be too many things trying to connect to it at once.

Worth reinstalling any drivers that came with it and or checking in device manager .

Tried the keyboard on another machine and it did not work BUT I tried the keyboard from the other computer on this Win 7 laptop and it also didn't work it was working on the other one.

Go into Control Panel > Device Manager and see if the Keyboard entry has a yellow exclamation mark alongside it which would confirm it is non-functional. Either way, go into the Keyboard's Properties and try updating the device driver.
