Good Morning everyone, yet another grey and humid day here today, I went to put the washing out this morning and the air was wet so it's up in the utility room instead. He Who Knows has gone to collect DD1 and bring her home tomorrow for their Norway trip on Sunday and she has a meeting with the social worker tomorrow lunchtime to see if she's been accepted on the adoption register, she's not at all hopeful but we'll see. The courier has just been to collect the cooking pot which was delivered yesterday and was the wrong item, house is up to date, ironing done and put away, some tidying of shelves has been done in the storeroom, I think I'll have an easy afternoon and an early night, bliss!!!0

Good afternoon all,
Was very dull here earlier, but seems to have brightned up a little now.
Went for the dreaded mammogram early this morning so just wait to hear. If they don't get in touch I am OK, if they do write to me there could be a problem:eek:
Popped into town after, managed to buy Himself a new lightweight jacket, 2 pairs of jeans and a pair of trousers, all in the sale. He hates spending money on clothes, so the only way he will buy is in the sale.
Last evening just before 6 p.m. we were waiting for DGD to come home from work when this little boy, about 9 I would think, knocked on our window looking quite distressed. Himself went to the door and the boy said "I have fallen off my bike and I am epileptic". With this I went to the door as well, poor little mite was shaking. We brought him in and he had some nasty grazes on his knee and arm.
He knew his Mum's mobile number so Himself called her whilst I dressed the wounds. She was here within minutes obviously worried to death. He had been riding his bike around the block, wearing a helmet, but last time he fell off he had a fit, so obviously he had been told to tell someone if it happened again. Unfortunately one of his fingers looked as though it might be dislocated or broken.
This poor little mite kept saying I am sorry to bother you and I said you are no bother. What I thought was wonderful was that he had remembered what his mum and Dad had told him to do. I hope he is OK, unfortunately I am not sure where he lives so can't find out.
Have a good day all and hugs to anyone needing one.

Lyn, I hope Nell is accepted if that is what she wants. I know she isn't hopeful, but you never know.
Much love

Went to hospital this morning and youngest came for moral support. The situation is not as bleak and urgent as I had feared
so feel more reassured and less panicky.
Offered dd a healthy meal out but she decided she would rather have my cooking so had a home made freezer meal that was low cal but with loads of veg. Treated her to some make up as a thank you as her graduation is next week.
Coming home we saw a for sale sign on a bungalow only a couple of doors down from our house. It does not seem to have hit rightmove yet or even be on the agent's website yet.
Middle dd and a friend are popping over tonight and I have found a diet recipe for chicken cacciatorre that I want to try with either green veg or salad to go with it.
Going to have a shower and look out a nice dress before I start cooking for tonight.
Hugs to all and thanks for all the supportive messages

Afternoon.
WB Camelot - your trip sounds really lovely.
Candlelight - how kind of you and your hubby. Proper old fashioned helpfulness there. It will have reassured the mother.
My day has not panned out as planned. Work was fine, collected my dry cleaning and then arrived home. Friendly neighbour from five houses down (2 miles away) came round with his chainsaw and eliminated two huge plants in the garden for me. Now I have a clear view from my tiny 'terrace' to all the garden. Then I spent almost an hour dragging the huge pile of branches out to the front field.
Joiner hasn't turned up...
- I've sent him a text but no reply. Can't be angry in case something awful has happened but I assume he has forgotten.
Am whacked now, won't tackle the lawn yet. If I recover my strength and my will and the rain holds off I may do it this evening, then again I may just sit and drink some gin instead.0 -
Days never DO pan out the way you think they will do they? Have just had call from DD2 who is feeling very poorly with a virus and am waiting to see if I have to dash off tonight to stay and look after that Zebra tomorrow. Will know when DSIL gets home and could probably be there by 11 tonight if I left by 7, who has time to get bored???0

Csarina welcome back! No stairs is great, isn't it? I was lucky that Mr LW already lived in a bungalow when I moved in with him.:D
What I am getting fed up with is "chuggers" at the door two or three times a week - usually beefy-looking blokes, purporting to represent some charity I've never even heard of.
I'm afraid I won't go to the door if I'm on my own, I speak to them via the intercom and tell them politely "no thank you". I do of course give to charity, but I prefer to give when I can actually afford it, and to an organisation I know something about! If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Lamewolf - I hate those door stoppers. Funnily enough I had, for the first time ever, two little old ladies at my door the other week (my front door is wide open most days to let the sun and wind through), turned out to be JW people. I was very polite to them whilst at the same time not letting them start their script. They too were very polite and left immediately and toddled off.
Well, as luck would have it the rain has started so mowing the lawn is off the plan.
I will stick to the final part and pour a G&T. 0
