California Car Rental Bargains(for under-25's)

Hey,

Maybe somebody has been a similar hunt or is good at finding car rental deals(never rented one before) that could possibily help me here.

Going to California(LA) and looking to rent a car for 5days(or a week if it is not much more). This will be from the end of Aug. & i am an under 23yo driver so their will be a supplement with all the rental companies it looks like.

Was wanting a convertibile though seeing as there is 3of us and they seem much more with the supplement, i am more geared towards a basic car, or a coupe. If a convertible or cool coupe isnt much more than a basic model then i would go for that,,,im all about the value for money, though after a quick look on one or two of the companies sites, i dont know if this will be possibile.

Anyway, any links, deals, quotes, codes....im very greatfull

Cheers.

Said before, take a look at airline-network. They did us the best deal for a car with Dollar from SFO and drop off at LAX for two weeks.

And also, as said before, Dollar include the Under 25 insurance on the platinum cover, which is a pretty good deal. Dollar always worked out the cheapedt for us when we were under 25 a couple of years back.

i used this company in florida as they were the cheapest and didn't ask for an under 25 supplement. i think the car itself came from dollar. and book the smallest car they offer as the chances of them having a two door car in the states is tiny! i always get upgraded!

    Hi,

Dollar do charge a supplement, though i have found that through Budget you can pay a one off payment of $50 for a special kind of insurance that covers under 25's.....this is much cheaper than upto $25 a day. Budget are not the cheapest though, im still trying the rest. Looking at £210 for 5days. Their should be a search engine that takes into acount prics for Under 25's. I can find the cheapest quotes but then have to add on the supplement and then the cheapest is not usually the cheapest.

    ....Just a side thought

*Do you think it would be cheaper to book and pay over their for ar rental as 1/ they charge less for last minute deals and 2/ then i could pay in dollars and they might offer a better rate when paying in this currency.

*Does it make a difference if you rent from an airport location or out of airport location??

...Thanks for the help so far
