I still have a problem upgrading to XP 2. The access denied code shows but i have been through most of the links to access denied on the microsoft website. Is there any hit to show what it is doing to help find when the problems occurs.
Thank you if you can help

What do you mean by access denied code? Is your copy of XP legal?"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

What are you on about?
There are only 2 versions of Windows XP, home and pro.
There are multiple versions of service pack available maybe you are trying to upgrade that?
You have 2 options use windows update or download th full 260mb+ install file from here save the file to your hard drive and run from there it can take a while to download.
I cant work out why your getting access denied microsofts site is open, write to the drive is normally fine unless the drive is full and won't allow a large download?
your not a limited user are you?0 -
The XP is the professional and it is not a copy. I have more than enough disk size. I am not a limited user0

Do you mean XP SP2? If so, see You receive an "Access is denied" error message when you try to install Windows XP Service Pack 2. That link also tells you the log files to check to find the reason for the error. Otherwise post the complete and exact error.I still have a problem upgrading to XP 2. I'm assuming you are trying to upgrade SP1 to SP2 for MS XP, is it an original copy of XP you are running, as I know the Microsoft site will deny access to unauthorised copies of XP.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Ive never seen microsoft.com give an access denied message even when using the hooky copy of windows xp corporate. The pc fails the WGA validation checks and the use of windows update fails but if you use the method I posted earlier download the file with no WGA checks and install fromt he downloaded file no problem. If you are getting a access denied message then take a screen dupm with the print screen key, paste the image in to an art package , upload the image to www.imageshack.us and post it here I can't see why or where you would get an acess denied especially if it is to a file/folder created by the current user and that user has admin rights.0
