Really fed up by Npower - Impossible to close my account! Help!

Last month, I moved out of a property I was renting in the UK to go back home, in France. As I was leaving on a Sunday, I called them the Saturday before to close my account. I spent my day on the phone, but I still couldn't get anyone... Now, I am back in France, but I still need to close my account; without this, I cannot get back the deposit I paid for the property I was renting... Of course, I cannot call them because it costs me around 1.7EURO/minute... which means a lot of money if I have to wait for more than hour. I have emailed them without success, and the online chat wasn't that efficient neither... I am just appalled that I cannot perform the simple action of closing my account... What is wrong with this company?!

    N power should have on there web site, if you have moved home. Complete this. Plus I would also send in an email. Make sure you have your account number. Try find there Facebook and Twitter page, leave them a message you need help with closing down your account.

    Your debts to third parties have nothing to do with your rental agreement, and no reason for withholding your rental deposit.

    Drop a LETTER to n'power headed Complaint, listing your problems in contacting them and giving the date and meter readings of your move - If the french postal service offers a "Signed For on Delivery" service, then use it.

    Even with this, it's doubtful that closure of your account with n'power will be a smooth ride, but it at least gives written evidence of the date and meter readings on which responsibility for for n'power billing passed back to your landlord
